What Personal Data We Collect And Why We Collect It

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, we collect non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors use our websites. From time to time, we may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

We also collect potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Creative Perspectives does not use such information to identify its visitors, however, and does not disclose such information, other than under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information, as described below.

Location data: We may use your IP Address to determine the country, region, and city from which you are accessing our web site, using the "GeoIP database". We use this information to maintain the security of our servers, and to understand our visitor base to serve them better.

Registered Users

If you create an account on one of our sites, such as a client prerelease site or our compant blog, you were prompted to select a Username and provide your Email Address.

Your Username and Email Address are stored in the website’s database. Your Email Address is used to send you an email with a link to set your password or to send you an email with a link to reset your password in the event you forget your password. We may also use this Email Address to communicate with you important business information, such as changes to our privacy policy.

Once an account is created, you must contact us to have it deleted.

Accounts have a numeric User ID assigned to them when they are created. The User ID cannot be changed.

Circumstances in which we may disclose user data:

What Data Breach Procedures We Have In Place

We routinely monitor our server log files and changes to files on our servers. We also run security software to monitor for malicious activity. Some of this software monitors the IP Addresses used and may temporarily or permanently block these IP Addresses at our firewalls.

Periodically, log files are removed from our servers and archived on an encrypted disk image, which is generally maintained off-line. These archived files are periodically purged.

Should any event occur where customer data has been lost, stolen, or potentially compromised, our policy is to alert our customers via email no later than 48 hours of our team becoming aware of the event. We will also report such incident to any required data protection authority. We will work closely with any customers affected to determine next steps such as any end-user notifications, needed patches, and how to avoid any similar event in the future.

European Users

On May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR, comes into effect, which regulates the treatment and use of personal data belonging to EU citizens. The GDPR gives you certain rights. For more information, please visit the European Union's Data Protection page. You may also find information on Wikipedia's GDPR article to be useful.

For any GDPR-related questions, or to exercise your rights under the GDPR, you can reach us at privacy@creativeperspectives.com.

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Creative Perspectives, Inc. may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in our sole discretion. We will notify clients by email when making changes.
