Image Program

Eastern Mennonite University, one of a small group of Mennonite-affiliated colleges and universities, needed to communicate the new forward-looking direction of the school as they changed from a college to a university.

Originally designed in the 1970s, the University’s identity program failed to reflect this new direction. They called on Creative Perspectives to help develop a more professional and polished image in order to better represent the institution and attract a more diverse student body.

Working closely with administrators and faculty, Creative Perspectives created an image program that captured both the traditional and modern aspects of the school’s mission: to foster active Christian involvement in world affairs. The graphic portion of the logo visually communicates spirituality and enlightenment. As part of this effort, Creative Perspectives produced a comprehensive graphic standards manual to guide the school in implementing the new image program.

The result was a dramatic increase in inquiries from high school seniors, both within and outside the Mennonite faith, and an increase in regional awareness for their graduate study programs. The identity program unifies and strengthens the University and projects an image of excellence which is important in attracting highly qualified students, faculty and staff.
